Industry Sector Partnerships have been around since 2004 in Ohio. South Central Ohio got one just recently. It is called BESTOhio and BEST stands for Business & Education Success Team, of which I am the Executive Director. We are working with manufacturers over a five-county area in southern Ohio to enhance workforce development and training programs in the region. We are aligning the training curriculum with the specific needs of our area businesses to improve productivity by investing in current employees and future job candidates. The next ten years will reveal technological advancements that will drive employee skills and knowledge to utilize advanced manufacturing systems. We are getting out in front of it now!
