Campaign Announcement

On Wednesday, February 2, 2022, local businessman and former Mayor of Chillicothe, Jack Everson, filed nomination papers to officially announce his candidacy for the position of Ross County Commissioner.

“After a lot of thought and encouragement from many local residents, I have decided to offer my name for your consideration as Ross County Commissioner, in the May primary, and November general elections. As the Mayor of Chillicothe from 2012 to 2016, it was an enormous privilege to lead this wonderful city and see the transformation which has been achieved with the hard work of private investment and city government since. I believe a similar vision needs to be established for the county. One which aligns with the ongoing evolution of the city and optimizes mutual opportunities for growth in the near future.”

“While there are great opportunities that present themselves to Ross County, there are also several threats that challenge the potential growth if not handled effectively. The national economic challenges with inflation and a nationwide lack of qualified workforce can throttle growth left unchecked. But there are things we can do now to minimize this impact.”

“I will spend the balance of the spring, and if successful in the primary, the summer, and fall, meeting with local residents to hear their concerns and ideas to develop a comprehensive platform that will be based on four key priorities for Ross County:

·County Financial Stability

·Building the Framework for Business and Farm Growth

·Workforce Development Initiatives

·A Beautify Ross County Initiative

Everson is currently the President of Platinum Horizon Group, a business rescue consultancy; Executive Director of BEST Ohio Industry Sector Partnership working on workforce development in a five-county region of southern Ohio, and Vice President of the Hope Partnership Project Board of Directors. He is married to local Realtor Christine Everson and has four grown children and 26 grandchildren.
